ZION STORIES
Our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters in Israel as they recover from a long and arduous war. We take steps to bless Israel (Genesis 12:3) and pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 122:6).

BLESS ISRAEL
2025 UPDATE
JULY 24, 2025
The most prominent question that everyone is asking is: “Is it safe to travel to Israel?”
The short answer is yes. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of groups touring Israel as we write this letter. All indications are that tourism (which has basically been shut down since Oct 7th) is picking up and Israel is likely facing one of their most “successful” years of tourism in 2026.
Since Israel’s rebirth as a nation in 1948, they have experienced seasons of relative calm as well as seasons of conflict. As with every conflict, we are keeping a close eye on the situation in Israel because the safety of our travelers is our number one priority. We also take security in knowing that our friends on the ground in Israel, who have been part of Israel tourism since its inception, will not let us come if things are unsafe for touring.
That being said, there is always a risk when traveling anywhere, whether that is Chicago or Jerusalem. One of the greatest ways that we can show support for Israel and the beautiful people living there, both Arab and Jew, is to visit them, especially in their time of need.
As tourism to Israel is picking up by the day in this post Oct 7th season, we are anticipating a special and unique time together with Aaron Shust on this trip.

Our Journey
-
After visiting Caesarea by the Sea and Mount Carmel, we’ll linger in the Galilee where Jesus performed the vast majority of His earthly ministry. We’ll boat onto the water Jesus calmed. We’ll explore Capernaum, Jesus’ home base, visit the Mount of Beatitudes, Nazareth, and enjoy sunsets over the Sea each evening! Anyone desiring a BAPTISM in the Jordan River can join me!
-
We’ll stand atop Herod’s Fortress of Masada, hike through King David’s secret hideout at Ein Gedi’s beautiful springs, and float on the waters of the “Salt Sea”!
-
We’ll ascend from ancient Jericho up the mountain of the Lord to Jerusalem, the city from which God’s eyes never depart (2 Chron 7:16). Enjoy a relaxing Sabbath exploring Jerusalem at your own pace. We’ll visit the archeological finds in the City of David, navigate Hezekiah’s Tunnel, stand at the Southern Steps of the Temple Mount and lift up our prayers at the Western Wall. We’ll follow Jesus’ footsteps from the Mount of Olives to the Garden of Gethsemane to the Garden Tomb for a time a communion!
-
We’ll worship at each location, enjoy after-dinner gatherings (outdoors Lord-willing) for a time of worship and reflection on the day’s events. One night in Jerusalem (2025 only) we’ll gather for a special Night of Worship with myself and Joshua Aaron!
-
We desire to bless Israel with our hands, our prayers, and simply our presence, knowing our hearts will be blessed in return. Ministry opportunities in the Galilee and Nazareth are in development, and an exclusive invitation to visit kibbutz Kfar Aza (attacked October 7th) is confirmed for the final day (2025).
…and so much more!
